Dr Caniato is a Queensland trained psychiatrist. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Queensland.

He briefly worked as a general practitioner before completing his psychiatric training in Townsville. He worked in the public system for a number of years before deciding to work independently as a private psychiatrist. He has experience in most areas of forensic psychiatry having previously held the position of Director of the Forensic and Secure Services for North Queensland (Australia). His areas of clinical interest include anxiety disorders, pain disorders, psychoses and gender or sexual issues. His approach is biological with a strong focus on modern evidence based treatments.

Her approach combines experience and compassion to help clients as they address their issues with the overal goal to improve how they feel and gain a sense of living a meaningful life. Her areas of special interest include positive psychology & wellness; insomnia, nutritional psychiatry, energy psychology and work & organisational psychology.

Duncan is a Clinical Psychologist with more than 24 years’ experience. He has worked in Australia and the UK, providing assessment and intervention to disorders of mood, affectivity and thought from adolescence to older adulthood.

His treatment approach involves insight-oriented cognitive and behavioural therapies including CBT, IPT, and ACT. He also has extensive experience in the assessment of capacity, character and risk of violence, and has held specific consultative roles to the Magistrate and District Courts. His clinical interests lie in the treatment of anxiety disorders including specific and social phobia, OCD, PTSD, and worry.

Melody primarily works within a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework and incorporates other modalities as appropriate, including Solution Focused Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She is genuinely compassionate and supportive in her approach. She has experience working with people facing a wide range of mental health and psychological difficulties, including depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship issues, workplace challenges, adjustment difficulties, trauma, and grief. She also has experience providing services to military veterans and their partners, understanding the unique challenges which can be associated with having served in the defence force.

During her career, Melody has held executive leadership positions, undertaken program development and training, and mentored managers and aspiring leaders. She is experienced in the provision of clinical supervision for clinical psychology registrars, provisional psychologists and other clinicians working within the field of mental health.



Kira Gibson

Psychologist

Kira Gibson is a skilled female psychologist with experience across the private, government, disability and health sectors. Her areas of interest include; Anxiety, Depression, Perinatal Concerns (Postnatal, Birth Trauma, Matresence and Miscarriage), Trauma, Adolescents, Assessments and Relationship Counselling.

Kira strives to provide a safe and welcoming space for all clients regardless of their needs or presentations. Kira uses multiple approaches specific to the client which can include, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). She works with NDIS, DVA, Medicare, Child Safety, Youth Justice, Queensland Corrections, Workcover and privately referred clients. Furthermore, Kira has many years of experience in psychometric testing and diagnosis including but not limited to cognitive, personality, mood, behavioural and adaptive functioning testing. On her weekends Kira enjoys exercising, reading and enjoying a good coffee.
